Blepharitis is a chronic condition, just like dry skin or dry scalp.There are times when it hardly bothers you and other times when it makes your eyes very uncomfortable. Just as using special shampoo to help with flaky scalp works for as long as you are using it then symptoms recur when you stop, lid heat and massage is the mainstay of managing blepharitis. When the symptoms have abated, you may need to do it once a day rather than twice but you must increase this if you feel the symptoms starting to recur.

This is not necessary anymore. It adds time to the process and of doing twice daily heat and massage and there is no evidence that they are superior to hot water alone.

This is not necessary, warm tap water alone is fine.
